24 hours of Mountain Biking
"The Kona Sleepless In The Saddle 24hour mountain
bike race saw Wafe enter not 1, not even 2 but 3 teams!
Yes you read it right... we took the event (well the
campsite at least) by storm and spent 24hours riding
bikes.
The first team lead by Matt Field has seen action on
the SITS battlefield several times before and it showed
as they ate up lap after lap on the outstanding course.
The "Fun Team" seemd to live up to their name
by enjoying every moment of the event and it was awesome
to watch 5 strangers gel into a team and then bond into
5 friends over the 24hour period. Lastly the "Road
Team", so named as it was made up of riders more
inclined to spend there time on skinny tyres, put in
a solid performance with the aid of secret weapon "Big
Micky Fuller"!
So with the event done and dusted and now cought up
on some much needed sleep I think that it can be said
an outstanding time was had by all. We shall be back...!
A very big thank you to all Wafe riders and an equally
big thank you to the support crew of friends and family.
